Electronic Cigarettes: What are They?

Electronic cigarettes are personal vaporizers that act as an alternative to cigarettes, pipes, and cigars. E-cigs allow users to get their nicotine fix without some of the hazards that go with smoking traditional cigarettes. Blu Cigs are one of the most popular brands of electronic cigarettes.

The makeup and use of e-cigs is pretty simple. They are powered by a rechargeable battery, once the user activates the electronic cigarette by inhaling on it or manually turning it on a heating device is triggered which turns the nicotine solution in the mouth piece into vapor. The nicotine solution is stored in a replaceable cartridge. On many electronic cigarettes there is an LED light on the tip which mimics the glows of a real cigarette; this light signifies that the ecig has been activated. Many e-cigs look like traditional cigarettes, but users are also able to choose more inconspicuous looks such as one that appears to be a ballpoint pen.

There is no smoke, carbon monoxide, bad breath, tar, yellow teeth, smell, second hand smoke, stubs, flame, or ash involved with electric cigarettes. Also, many states are placing bans and restrictions on cigarette smoking indoors and with e-cigs, users are able to smoke almost anywhere.

For many smokers, e-cigs may be more cost efficient than traditional cigarettes. Many e-cigarette users have reported saving a lot of money since they don’t have to constantly buy new packs of smokes. This can be quite helpful, especially in todays economy.
